Chonda Pierce
who was born in South Carolina, is a Christian comedienne often called "The Queen of Clean."
Pierce started in comedy during a six-year stint at a theme park in Nashville, Tennessee called Opryland USA,in order to
pay her college bills. She didn't know how to dance, so she had to memorize jokes from Grinders Switch, Tennessee and impersonate Cousin Minnie Pearl. She had a troubled childhood and entertainment was the escape that Pierce needed.
Since her humble beginnings, Chonda Pierce has gone on to appear numerous times
on the stage of The Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee, write eight books, and become perhaps the most sought after Christian comedienne of today, having five gold-certified comedy albums to her name. Pierce
has an ongoing concert calendar and her comedy segments also frequently appear on XM Radio's Laugh USA and SIRIUS Satellite Radio's Blue Collar Comedy 103.
Pierce is a member of the Christian Comedy Association, but besides comedy, she is a spokesperson for World Vision and works with various other Christian leaders and organizations. Pierce is scheduled to co-host
the 2009 Christian Music Hall of Fame awards with Christian recording star, David L Cook acting as host. |
